Reptar are all bells and brass with their latest track “Amanda.” The video is the type of weirdo trip you’d expect from the Athens, Georgia band, but the song is as sweet as a peach. Their previous single, “Cable,” would sound great next to All Tiny Creatures on a mixtape, and Reptar’s debut off of Lurid Glow ties the two nicely together.
Reptar plays Madison, Wisconsin tonight at The Frequency – be sure to bring your dancing shoes because every time I’ve seen them it’s turned into a one big party.
Lurid Glow dropped March 31st. Find more tour dates here.
JMSN is just too much. Everything Christian Berishaj puts out pendulates between swoon and giggle – he has blessed us with some straight-up baby-making music so nostalgic that it’s either high art or born of a sweetly unabashed love for the silk-pajama-clad past. Either way, it’s endearing, and you’ll soon be singing along while alternately waving the haters off and pulling down the emotion with your clenched fists.
“Final Boss” is the first track on Doomtree‘s excellent album All Hands and it comes hard. The Minneapolis collective’s hearts might be cold but there’s a fire burning behind their eyes. Watch the crew slay lyrically and literally, then get right back up to do it again.
