On March 4th, 2011, the Majestic Theater in Madison, Wisconsin hosted Ryan Bingham & the Dead Horses and Liam Gerner. Bingham won the Best Original Song Oscar for “The Weary Kind” – Crazy Heart‘s theme, and it’s no surprise why – the man is a great songwriter and has the voice and guitar skills to make what he writes heart-wrenchingly and foot-stompingly awesome. Opening the show was Australian singer-songwriter Liam Gerner. Inspired by the protests in Madison surrounding the governor’s Budget Repair Bill, Gerner penned this song in tribute:
